Fee –

General Admission:  $900 (Day 1) / $2,600 (Day 1 & 2)

Endodontic procedures require fundamental work flow from diagnosis through to obturation. Recurring obstacles become frustrating, time consuming and anxiety inducing. This course will equip you with effective work flows to overcome diagnostic dilemmas, restorative considerations, occlusal considerations, working length tricks & understanding, pain management and excellence in anaesthesia. Why vitality of the pulp can be retained in more cases than you think. Get to know the rules.

This two day course is setup to have three excellent international speakers with great educational talents. Dr James Wealleans will be present – in-person for the full two days – and Dr Anibal Diogenes and Dr Nikita Ruparel will live stream in from San Antonio, USA. It will inspire you.

Learning objectives (CPD Points available)

  • Improving Negotiation Skills
  • Get a deep understanding of Anesthetic failures – an applied approach
  • Becoming more consistent in WL techniques. What to do – and when
  • Obturation Skill Enhancement
  • The value of CBCT – it’s a revelation
  • Retaining pulp vitality. Pre-op, Operative and post-op tips, enhancing successful outcomes
  • Why endodontically treated teeth fail and how to prevent failure (or at least delay it as long as possible)

Day 1 – Friday Course

MODULE 1   Let’s get to the fundamental. We can all improve.
Dr James Wealleans

  • Essentials of Diagnosis.
  • When and why to do single visit Endo.My irrigation protocol and how to get it right.
  • Get consistency with Working lengths.
  • Why my first Rotary WL is to midroot – shaping the Wealleans way.
  • Road map to the apex.
  • Understanding Case selection and Case difficulty.
  • Improve workflow with systems for Access, Negotiation and Shaping.
  • Understand the rights/wrongs when determining WL.

MODULE 2   Pain Management – a very clinical approach!
What to do when anaesthesia is proving illusive. A step by step approach.
Dr Anibal Diogenes

  • Understand basic endodontic diagnosing principles and what makes diagnosis so difficult.
  • Define and differentiate between endodontic pain and other dental sources of pain.
  • Feel confident in discerning dental pain from other sources of pain.
  • Realize the complexity of pain and pain perception from emotional and physiologic standpoints.
  • Understand the neuroscience of central sensitization and its clinical manifestations.
  • Define the role of chronic pain in endodontic presentation and patient management.
  • Better understand the science behind anesthesia success and failure as well as genetic predisposition associated with persistent pain and thus allow attendees to better treat their patients

MODULE 3   VPT. The devil is in the detail. This is what you need. Dr Nikita will walk you through the Essentials. Saving vitality is an essential skill in modern Endo.
Dr Nikita Ruparel

Therapeutic strategies focused on the pulp preservation, are important when managing vital teeth with deep caries and an exposed pulp. These vital pulp treatments are not new, with indirect and direct pulp capping procedures being described as a therapy for carious teeth for over a century.

  • Describe how to treat deep caries without endo treatment – critical steps.
  • Recognize the importance of using bioactive materials.
  • Explain Pre-op, Operative and Post-op prognostic details that will make you succeed.
  • Predisposition associated with persistent pain and thus allow attendees to better treat their patients.

MODULE 4   Obturation – how I do it.
Dr James Wealleans

An important goal of root canal treatment is to properly seal the canal system after cleaning and shaping. However, irregularities such as fins, isthmuses, and lateral canals are often present and can pose challenges to clinicians during obturation . The inability to effectively fill and seal these anatomic spaces can have a detrimental effect on the success of endodontic treatment. Historically, the failure of root canal treatment has been associated with poor root canal obturation . These findings suggest the importance of obturation techniques and materials.

  • Single cone Vs Warm Vertical.
  • Why bioceramic sealers are a game changer.
  • How to complete the obturation with G.I.

Day 2 – Saturday Full Day Hands-on Course
