There is no doubt that the world has come a long way with regards to advances in health, and with these technological advances come some learning curves. The United Nations declared 2015 the Year of the Light to acknowledge and raise awareness of the achievements of light science and its applications, including those within the health sector. There has been a renewed vigour in understanding the mechanisms of light therapy and its applications in medicine and dentistry.

As primary care providers we aim to better the outcomes for our patients through predictable and minimally invasive methods. Lasers, as a treatment modality, are not only minimally invasive but carry less inherent risks when applied to patient care, especially with those patients who carry a high pharmacological load or complex medical history.

This is a hands-on course and participants will have the opportunity to use the laser to mimic dental procedures on inanimate tissues. Suitable for all dental operators as well as auxiliary staff.
