So Many Cements, So Many Adhesives

Understanding the 'Simple' and 'Complex' Approaches

Dr. Michael Mandikos

Free Live Webinar!

Date: Tuesday 2nd June, 2026
Time: 7.00pm – 8.30pm AEST

CPD: 1.5 CPD Point

Synopsis

When it comes to bonding and cementing crowns, many dentists find themselves asking, “Am I doing this right?” With the wide range of dentine bonding systems and cements available today—and the abundance of “hints and tips” promising improved outcomes—clinical decision making can quickly become confusing. Unfortunately, some clinicians may unknowingly use an incorrect application technique for their chosen product, leading to poor bond strength or post operative sensitivity, both of which can compromise an otherwise successful case. In this webinar, Dr Mandikos will present a practical overview of dentine bonding and cementation, helping attendees understand what the different systems actually do and how they are intended to work. He will simplify cementation protocols and challenge several common “urban myths” along the way. This program is designed to clearly outline the steps required for the adhesive cementation of zirconia, eMax, and PFM crowns, as well as onlays, enabling clinicians to achieve more predictable and reliable results.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and describe the different bonding systems used in restorative dentistry, including metal and ceramic primers and universal adhesives
  • Compare and differentiate simple and multi step cementation systems and their clinical indications
  • Apply evidence based bonding techniques to achieve optimal adhesion and clinical longevity
  • Select the appropriate cement for specific clinical situations using a structured, evidence-based decision making approach
