Vital Pulp therapy aims to preserve the pulp and is often overlooked in treatment options. With focused case selection and advanced bioceramic materials vital pulp therapy can be a reliable treatment option for carious teeth which show symptoms which would be described as irreversible pulpitis. We will first revise the response of the pulp to caries and its potential for repair and then look at case selection and reliable techniques for successful vital pulp therapy.
